English teacher at Cardiff & Vale College for over 20 years, Simon DAY puts emphasis in his classes on speaking and pronunciation. He also prepares many students for different linguistic exams (ESOL tests, IELTS …). Curious and passionate, he traveled to Indonesia and Fiji. Mountain biking, skiing and snowboarding are his main hobbies!
Teresa BROTHERTON (Tess) has been teaching English for many years in different parts of the world: in Europe, Asia and Africa. She enjoys meeting students from different cultures and
backgrounds. Passionate about her work, she has been teaching at Cardiff & Vale College for many years. Teresa has dietary skills that she will share with you to improve and balance your meals.
Her hobbies are running, swimming and cycling.
Lee KENDALL is a Welsh football coach with a UEFA professional licence and currently assistant manager at Barry Town United.
Lee began his career in English football as a professional player with London club Crystal Palace. He also represented Wales at U16, U18 and U21 level. He played for Barry Town United before joining Welsh club Cardiff City in 2000.
Lee continued his coaching career in 2010 and has worked with a number of established clubs including Sheffield United, then in the Championship; Cardiff City, Bristol City; USW; Barry Town United…
Lee also coached goalkeepers for the Men’s U15 to U21 national teams for over 3 years.
As Head Coach of the Football Class Academy, Lee will be responsible for the team from a footballing perspective. He will be responsible for developing and overseeing the training plan throughout the season, selecting players and organizing matches. His role will enable each player to get playing time and therefore exposure in the various Welsh leagues.
Darren ROBINSON has a wealth of experience in sports teaching and coaching, with a specialisation in football and involvement in various training programmes linked to educational and sporting institutions in Wales.
He is also Deputy Head of Sport at our university partner CAVC Cardiff And Vale College, and will act as assistant coach for the academy’s training sessions.
Darren ROBINSON also has a major asset in that he has been working with the FAW Football Association of Wales as a coach trainer since 2016. This experience enhances his coaching expertise, enabling him to pass on his skills to future coaches and contribute to the development of Welsh football. This role also gives him the opportunity to respond to the needs of local clubs and facilitate introductions for academy players.
Lawrence Lok Man YEUNG has extensive experience in sports analysis and coaching, mainly in football. In addition to his role at the Football Class Academy, he is a Senior Research Assistant at Cardiff Metropolitan University. He also plans and delivers training sessions for pre-academic age groups at Cardiff City FC. Previously, he was a coach and analyst for various clubs, including FC Sochaux-Montbéliard in France, where he worked with the U21 and U19 teams, and Lee Man FC in Hong Kong. His expertise covers performance analysis, recruitment, and player technical development.
Youssef AKKI is the head of the FCA Cardiff Academy and is holder of the UEFA A Diploma, Youssef has made the practice of football and education his mission of life.
Youssef AKKI started football at an early age … this passion quickly became a real vocation.
Previously, responsible for a football school and acting in the national education, he was able to acquire real skills in coaching young people.
His curiosity and openness to the world led him to travel and live unique experiences abroad (UK, Italy, Spain, US, Canada, Emirates, China…).
